Wednesday Artist Spotlight & A Giveaway from Laura George

It's Laura George! Hooray! Can I tell you that I so need this piece of hers in my kitchen & this one in my office, because they so make me laugh & I love the pants off of them? But we're not here for dancing bananas and acupuncture - we're here for her sweet & gorgeous print entitled We Wrapped Ourselves Around Each Other:

Here's what Laura has to say about the inspiration behind this piece:

this piece was inspired by my relationship with my boyfriend, and also by the concept of energy / spirit -- that sort of intangible thing that we put out there in the world, and how it interacts in different ways with different people.

You can find Laura on Etsy, Flickr, and her blog minutiae. When she’s not painting or drawing, Laura likes to spend her time on coffee, her guitar, dreaming of the ocean, reading, traveling to distant lands, and taking pictures. Seriously, how awesome is she?

Wanna win this bee-you-tee-ful print? Tell us about what you put out into the world by noon on Monday August 23rd to be entered, and we'll announce the winners the very next day!

I put my daughter into this world. At first, it was because I felt it was the right thing to do. But now, she is my inspiration. Because of her, I have grown in ways unimaginable. I have pushed myself to the limits because she so easily attains what she desires and needs. I have watched her persevere in my negativity which I so desperately tried to pass on to her but she instinctively knew to run the other way.

By bringing my daughter in to this world, I brought inspiration to those who may never know what it is like to achieve their dreams, to follow their hearts and to know true, inspiring, unequivical love.

I put loving light and energy into the world through my intuitive and nurturing Tarot readings. My favorite reader is my daughter who often asks for readings with my Mystic Faerie Tarot and Tarot of the Magical Forest. She's 11. :-) Such a blessing to share my work with her.

Adore the featured print!
Bright Blessings!

I put love and honesty into this world. I try to treat my students with love, even when they're driving me nuts, and I try to steer them to their true path rather than the one every other adult has suggested they take even if it's not right. I don't have children yet, but I am starting my own little family this fall when I marry the man of my dreams. I would love to hang this print in our bedroom to honor our new little marriage.

I try to put love and compassion out there!! I've been paying attention lately and it really does make a difference what people put out there...especially when you're the one on the receiving end. I've learned to chose wisely who I spend my time with- a valuable lesson. You guys continue to inspire me on a daily basis- thanks!
